Our ever popular Do You Own Thing classes are fulling up fast. Our night time classes only have a few spaces in each class left. These are for people of all sewing levels and you can basically sew what you want and Donna will be here for any help/advice you need. Or if you are just a beginner Donna can start you on a Sampler quilt, where you will learn all the techniques you need to know to get you started in the patchwork and quilting world.

Welcome back to everyone. I hope everyone had a lovely and safe Christmas and New Years. We are very excited to see what 2012 has to come. While we are still on our break from our Do Your Own Thing classes, on every Saturday until the 11th of February we are having our Sew in Saturdays. So if you are after a bit of help from Donna or feeling the need to get out of the house and sew with some company, this would be the thing for you. We open at 9.30am and close at 3pm and you are welcome to stay for the whole day. Class fee is only $20.

Let me introduce you to the newest addition to the family, his name is Lincoln Dane Baars and was born on Nov 4th at a healthy 9 pounds 2 ounces. Ashleigh and Dane are adapting to parenthood very well and as you can see Lincoln is enjoying his new life being surrounded in cuddle.

The Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen has arrived and I am in love with it.  We are so excited to be privileged to be the local dealer for this wonderful sit down quilting machine for the serious quilter.  If you love to free-motion machine quilt but struggle to fit your project in a small throat space, you’re going to love the HQ Sweet Sixteen. Sixteen inches of throat space gives you room to quilt even a king-size quilt. The smooth surface of the table allows your project to glide under the needle. The ever popular Superior branded invisible thread called Monopoly has FINALLY come back into stock, and I mean finally!!! This product is amazing, it is an invisible thread that is a polyester not a sreatchy nylon thread so it sews with ease. However the company it comes from has been out of production and we havnt been able to stock it for a VERY long time. We are very excited to have it back at the shop! It comes in clear or smoke. Smoke is good for darker fabrics.

Donna has been sewing up a storm lately, next on the ‘Done’ list is this funky Safari cuddle quilt. We have made Kit-sets up in the size Medium, ( 11 strips and 5″ each ). We have had a similar one in store during the start of the year, but could only get our hands on a few and they flew out the door, even the shop sample got snapped up. So this one is sure to be popular.
